It is difficult to present everything about art to students but basic concepts apply with the use of a variety of media. As a teacher boredom may set in and students may become difficult to motivate. Materials might be in short supply and students sometimes turn their noses up with experiences they find mundane, too difficult, or uninteresting. Offering students different experiences and choice of subject matter can help relieve some of the rejection of content but there is never a solution that works all of the time.
When I encountered the lack of funding for supplies and equipment over the years I tried to pivot in such a way that students were still being taught art making skills that were used by professional artists around the world. In an attempt to showcase non traditional art materials and linking them to professional artists working in similar styles I hope this will provide a resource that can be used by art educators all over the world and assist in filling out a creative and relevant curriculum when resources are limited.
